Teams can do their own fundraising too. Team Horan 5 led by resident assistant Jack Knight and Rachel Pong are holding a fundraising program on March 9th on the 5th floor of Horan at 8:30 pm. For two dollars, students can enter a card game of Apples-to-Apples and get a chance to win gift card prizes and bookstore merchandize.
MC students have put in hours of work into the event. "The Relay for Life committee held its first meeting September 12, 2008--essentially 6 1/2 months before the Relay! The committee has been meeting weekly. There is an incredible amount of work to be accomplished when it comes to raising $50,000, which is the goal for this year's event," said Kevin McCloskey, coordinator of Campus Ministry and Social Action.
Bulson said, "Every week I have an amazing committee come in and work. They give their all. It's just not an hour a week at a meeting. It's many delegated tasks."
Bulson and Scala hope that the committee's hard work will help make this year's event the best it has seen in the last six years.
