At Manhattan College, the seniors are preparing for their final days as Jaspers and share their experiences and future plans.
Brendan Major said, "I wouldn't trade my experience at MC for anything in the world This school has shaped me into who I am today."
Major further explains, "MC has provided me with the means to accomplish anything I have aspired to do. It gave me the wisdom and freedom to choose, and the knowledge to understand the outcomes. Moreover, I have learned to forge relationships with people that can give you great advice (including the lunch lady) has been a great asset for me. Honestly, Manhattan just gave me the time and means to find out who I really am, so that I'm not so lost when I graduate and prove myself."
Lindsay Bisson transferred from Ohio University about two years ago. She feels that she has learned "the responsibility of living alone and how lack of social activity on some occasions has resulted in concentrating more and doing well in my school work." Bisson plans to hone her marketing skills by working for Hedge Fund in Greenwich, Connecticut after she graduates.
Jason Wonsang, a business major, said, "Manhattan has prepared me as well as any institution has. I would tell incoming students to get involved, as my college life really changed once I began being part of various clubs and groups." Wonsang plans to work for Pricewaterhouse Coopers after graduation.
Although he has enjoyed his time at Manhattan, Major does have some ideas for change. He would like to see Manhattan "make the school brand name more easily identifiable. Being a marketing major, I have learned that being able to identify a brand is as important as the brand itself, the brand being the school name and culture. On a more serious note, I would like our school to have a more prestigious image; I think we deserve it. I will work hard to change that on my own."
One thing that Major regrets about his four years at MC is "not doing work during weekends. I wish that I did a lot of work on weekends instead of just going out! But it did help me since I socialized a lot during the weekends and met very interesting people."
He also wishes that "I moved out of Horan into my own apartment, but part of working for Red Bull as a student representative requires me to live on campus and Horan Hall has the most diverse group of students."
