Oddly and unlike any other time in BSB touring history, many of the attendees were at loss when the boys performed songs from their current album. Very fittingly, Brian Littrell commented during the concert, "Some of you don't know this song, but you will once we start singing it. I see some of you nodding yes even though your smile says no!" Many of the younger generation present could not sing along the songs from the Never Gone album as they did with the older tracks. This only proved that although AJ McLean says this album is "for the whole family," this is not the case. The current album really captured the older crowds. Among that older crowd are fans that grew up and matured with Backstreet.
The surprise ending to the show that night at 10:45 PM was that the show was not really over. After the five guys said their good-byes and the cheering and applauses died down, many people began to file out. No sooner, however, the Boys reappeared to perform for another 15 minutes. As Kevin Richardson keyed out the tunes on his white baby grand, the other four fell right in step with the perfect lyrics, performing more of the slower tunes from Never Gone. The typical Backstreet Boys pyrotechnics concluded the show with a big bang.
Click Five and Kaci Brown opened that night with two very different sounds. Kaci Brown could not keep the crowd entertained for too long with her Mandy Moore-like pop songs. Click Five, somehow, was more successful keeping the crowd excited with their singing and instrument playing ability. Nevertheless, they both had to submit to the audiences' constant demand to see their boys in action. And a show did they get.
